It is recommended that if you become a victim of identity theft that you:

1. Call your local law enforcement agency to make a report and keep a copy of it

2. Contact your financial institution to notify them of the problem.
3. place a fraud alert on your credit report by contacting the three major credit
bureaus:

EXPERIAN---1-888-EXPERIAN
TRANSUNION --- 1-800-680-7289
4. Close out any accounts that have been tampered with. Obtain any new pin
numbers and passwords.
5. Cancel any checks that you think may have been stolen or misused.
6. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission--- 1-877-IDTHEFT
